GRUNT SPADES | BROADCAST & INTERVIEW STARTERS

30-SECOND ANCHOR INTRO (SCRIPT FOR EDITORIAL ADAPTATION)
A military card-table tradition is finding new life in Arkansas. Army veteran R. B. Porter started Grunt Spades to preserve a partnership version of Spades learned around military tables. This fall the project held pilots at the University of Central Arkansas and Arkansas State. Seventeen people participated in games across the two events, and all nine who returned feedback forms said they would play again. Porter hopes the next step is recurring community tables. The idea: one familiar game and a reason to gather.

VISUAL / AUDIO MOMENTS
• Cards dealt and scored at a real table, with participants' permission.
• The founder explaining why the rules needed to be written down.
• A demonstration of the Field App tracking a hand.
• Natural sound from a real game, captured with consent.

POSSIBLE QUESTIONS FOR THE FOUNDER
• What did the Spades table mean during Army service?
• What is distinct about this specific version of Spades?
• Why document the rules instead of leaving the game as house rules?
• What did the UCA and A-State pilots teach you?
• What would a dependable local table look like six months from now?
• What still needs to be tested before cards or kits can go on sale?

EDITORIAL NOTE
No player quotations are supplied or invented. Interviews, recording and images require the usual editorial permissions and releases. Grunt Spades is an independent recreation/business project, not a medical treatment or military-authorized program.
