SUBJECT: Story idea: Army veteran preserves a military card-table tradition

Hello [Editor or Reporter],

I wanted to share a local veteran and community story you may find worth covering.

I am R. B. Porter, a U.S. Army veteran and founder of Grunt Spades, an Arkansas-based effort to preserve a military-rooted version of partnership Spades and make it easier to organize recurring community tables.

We held university pilots at UCA and Arkansas State this fall. At A-State on October 19, we had 13 people present, including 12 participants, with two tables in play. Across both pilots, all nine participants who returned feedback forms said they would play again. These are early results, and we are still learning what works.

I have put together a newsroom kit containing the founder story, verified pilot facts, a one-page summary and official brand assets. I would be glad to arrange an interview or show you how a table works in person.
