Origin story
Written from the table outward.
The game already existed wherever soldiers had four chairs, a deck, and enough time to argue. Grunt Spades gives that table its field manual: GS-1, field designation FM 10-4-2.
It is not government doctrine. It is table doctrine: direct, tested, argued over, and built to be handed down through barracks, field problems, deployments, reunions, and family rooms.
